St. John's Ev. Lutheran School is open for all children of the congregation, sister congregations, and members of the community as space permits. Parents new to the school should contact the principal to receive information regarding enrollment procedures. An Enrollment Committee reviews requests to enroll nonmember children.
Parents new to the school begin the enrollment process by attending Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Open House nights where enrollment forms are distributed. Each spring parents with children currently enrolled complete pre-registration forms, and then more information is sent to parents in July. Pastors and the principal also meet with non-WELS parents to inform them of our church’s religious doctrines and practices as well as expectations from both students and parents. The meetings also provide an opportunity for parents to ask questions and get information that may be personally important to them.
It is our desire that all parents seeking to enroll their children in the school should understand the philosophy, purpose, and objectives of the school. New students must have health and scholastic records sent from the school previously attended. Formal enrollment takes place at the August registration.
Transfers in during the school year are generally discouraged unless parents are new to the area. While we sincerely want as many children to benefit from Christian training at our school, we do not want parents dissatisfied with a current school or problems to view our school just as another option for them.
Before a new student is admitted, a formal request for enrollment must be made. We have an enrollment committee that reviews student data from a previous school when considering a request to enroll.
